Dr. Kiran Kancharla, M.D.

“My own personal experience with cancer has given me a different perspective on how best to treat patients battling this disease. It’s about more than just providing medical care, although that is crucial. Just as important in my opinion, however, is the way in which this medical care is provided to patients. I provide my patients with the personal and emotional support they need as people as well as the medical support they need as patients.”~ Dr. Kiran Kancharla

Dr. Kiran Kancharla came to Southlake Oncology by way of Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India, where she earned her medical degree, and Loyola University in Chicago where she completed her residency and fellowship training. Today, Dr. Kancharla is board-certified in medicine, oncology, and hematology. She has parlayed her vast experience with a variety of malignancies and benign hematology into a focus on lymphomas, as well as breast, lung, and gastrointestinal cancers.

Shaping Dr. Kancharla’s overall philosophy of care was the lymphoma diagnosis of her father when he was 42. Dr. Kancharla now understands the importance of working closely with a patient’s family and support team because she knows how important it was for her when she was a family member in that position. Compassionate care is the cornerstone of her treatment plan for all of her patients and she has made building relationships with them and their families a priority in her practice. By involving a patient’s support team, Dr. Kancharla is able to ensure consistency of care and support through a patient’s individualized treatment plan.

Dr. Kancharla sees patients at the Choice Cancer Care Centers of Southlake Oncology, Las Colinas Cancer Center, and Lewisville/Flower Mound Oncology Group.

Dr. Kancharla, her husband, and their two children are very active in their local Indian community. Dr. Kancharla also enjoys time spent traveling, cooking, and listening to music.
